Dragon Skin Gel is our under costume gel. It is extremely thick and able to withstand high temperatures and direct flame for extended periods of time.

Unlike most other gels you do not need to soak the fire retardant underwear overnight. Simply scoop the gel out of the bucket and apply liberally to each layer of fire retardant clothing and on the inner layers of the costume. This greatly cuts down on prep time and allows you to adjust how much of a heat barrier you want based on how much gel you apply.

It is opaque in color. It can be spread thinly over exposed skin but we recommend one of our clear gels for skin protection. How thick the gel is applied and how big the flames are will effect how long you can do a burn. On average, with a moderate application of gel and flames, 0:45-1:30 is easily achievable, giving you a large safety margin. 

It works best chilled to around 35°F (2°C) but it can also be used at room temperature (72°F/ 21°C). Using it at room temperature will decrease the performance of the gel.

We recommend 3 gallons for a full burn when used in conjunction with Stealth Gel or Standard Gel. This will cover the protective undergarments and inside of the costume only. Any exposed skin should be covered by one of our clear gels. If you plan on doing multiple takes you will likely need more than 3 gallons.

This gel lasts three months unrefrigerated in a cool dry place but once opened must be refrigerated. If you want to keep it for extended periods of time you can freeze it for up to three years.
